Its Not Over Yet
On a chilly October night, the Red Sox and Tigers battled against each other in game 2 of the AL championship. The Sox were coming off a tough loss against the Tigers the night before but that didnt stop them from putting up a relentless fight. On the mound, Max Scherzer got the start for the tigers while Clay Bucholz tried to get Boston there first win of the series. The Tigers got out to an early lead in the 2nd inning with a base hit by Tony Avilla. Besides the early run in the second inning, there wasnt much offense produced by either teams. Both pitchers had tramendous control and stamina thorughout the game. Max Scherzer especially, he was on his game and pitched 7 innings only allowing one run, two hits, and struck out 13 of the Boston Red Sox's batters. On the other hand Bucholz was quiet good through five inning only allowing one run, but in the sixth inning the tiger batters' got hot with a lead off homerun by batting champ Miguel Cabrera that lead to three more runs in the same inning. The Red Sox bullpen arose to take over for Clay in the sixth inning after four runs have already came across home plate. They did there job and shut down the Detroit Tigers for the rest of the game. It was not the same outcome for the Tigers bullpen late in the game. It all started in the eighth inning after Scherzer was pulled and it was left to the relivers of the tigers to finish the game. A few hits in the beginning of the eighth inning iniciated a rally by the Boston Red Sox. It was a 5-1 game and bases were loaded with David Ortiz up to bat. First pitch and the ball soared over the right cneter fence of Fenway Park. The game was tied and soon after in the bottom of the ninth inning the Red Sox won with a walk off hit to even up the series 1-1.
