Under Armour fights to prevent concussions
Under Armour started off as a t shirt appeal and took off into a multi- billion dollar company. Kevin Plank is the owner and founder of under Armour. He always grew up playing football and wanted to create a newer and more comfortable jersey for players to wear. Kevin Plank has taken his Under Armour Company to a whole new level by helping out the NFL by funding concussion programs. Plank has risen up to 10 million dollars in grants and awards. Also Under Armour has funded innovative approaches to help with prevent and to identify brain injuries. This challenge has helped to bring people back to look for new ways that can help players to be safer on the field, such as looking for new ways to improve helmets or protective equipment that will reduce the chance of concussion. Roger Goodell and Kevin Plank both believe that there will be safer helmets that can be created and used on the football field at all ages. Heads up football is also another thing that is being better funded so players are receiving the proper education and teaching they need to help prevent injuries so there playing the game the right way. Besides equipment upgrade and findings, rule changes in the NFL have helped to prevent the number of head injuries. Roger Goodell created a rule that if head to head contact was made there would be a penalty and also a player could be fined if the hit was serious enough.
